My apology

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to my future husband, for the reason: your future wife cooking sucks!

My cooking are like roses, they are only safe to look at.


However, on the upside... "whoever marries me will be very lucky, because he will have a chance to show off his culinary skills." ;-p

Family Dinner

Last weekend, my family and I went out to dinner.
Location: Sam Woo Restaurant in Irvine, Ca.


The first course: Dried Scallop Soup.


The second course: Peking Duck


The third course: I don't know


The fourth course: Fu Chow Fried Rice (correct me if I'm wrong)


The fifth course: Tender Greens


The last course: Watermelons and Fortune cookies

I had a great time with my family. We enjoyed all of the courses, however, we're not big eaters...we ended up taking almost everything to go. The soup was the only thing that we've managed to finished. As for the bill, well...let's just say that it's a good thing that it wasn't my turn. hee...hee...hee... :D

Breakfast at Corner Bakery Cafe

My friend and I went to Corner Bakery Cafe to have our breakfast.


I ordered the All American Scrambler breakfast and their coffee.


hee...I didn't get to finished my breakfast. I do like their bacons and egg.

How did I spend my năm mới? Well...

I ordered a pizza.

This pizza was my breakfast, lunch and dinner.

And before the clock stroked midnight, I finished it off with some new year food, banh tet with dua mon (pickled daikon and carrots).
* Interesting notes: This year, Tết is one day earlier then CNY.

All right, it might not looks like the original, but that's okay, what matters is the taste.

It is alright, taste, which is what matters.

This is my fourth time cooking by myself, and I think that, well, maybe it will be my last time too. How does it taste? Well, it was like I was chewing on a piece of gum, well...more like rubber band. hahaha...I really need help. ;P

Tonight, we went to Matsu, it is a Japanese restaurant in Huntington Beach, California, to celebrate a friend's birthday. As you can see in the above picture, raw fishes dominate in our ordered. I had fun.

These were flowers that was blooming in my front yard, they would usually last for a few weeks if left alone, now... it dry in two days.

Sushi, what can I say...it's too pretty to eat. Anyhoo, I tried the two dishes above. The first one is the "California roll" and the other is...I don't remember the name, but I like the roll that's cover in red thing...:P
